Biblical Basis

The Bible  is the final authority on any and every issue. The Constitution of the United States is itself based on scripture and its truths and principles (see Isaiah 33:22). There is no sphere of society where the Bible isn't true and applicable! The Bible is our "compass" all the time, every time. By the grace of God, Federal Intercessors seeks a Biblical basis in all our ministry actions, and it is our "filter" of discernment. We hold to no other authority as our foundation or motive.

2nd Timothy 3:16-17 is clear: "All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."

Redeeming a nation is a good work, and the Bible is the only adequate and effective repair manual. Jesus Christ is the only Lord and Savior, the only way to God the Father, and the One Who alone holds the power to change a nation; to change the hearts and minds of men. He has commanded us to make disciples of all nations, and we propose to start with this one.

God Himself laments in Hosea 4:6 that "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." Our nation is in grievous peril. Christians must stand, and begin to steward the nation according to the eternal truths and principles of God and His Word. Christians who are not and do not represent the salt and light we were told to be are the problem!

The following are but a few of the scriptures that are the foundation and authorization for this ministry.

Psalm 33:12

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD..."

Proverbs 14:34

"Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people."

Proverbs 29:2 

"When the [uncompromisingly] righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked man rules, the people groan and sigh." (Amplified)

II Chronicles 7:14

"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive, and I will heal their land."

Psalms 119:160

"The sum of Thy Word is truth, and every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting."

Isaiah 10:1

"Woe to those who enact evil statutes And to those who constantly record unjust decisions..."

Isaiah 10:13-14 

"For he (the enemy of God) has said, "By the power of my hand and by my wisdom I did this, For I have understanding; And I removed the boundaries of the peoples And plundered their treasures, And like a mighty man I brought down their inhabitants, And my hand reached to the riches of the peoples like a nest, And as one gathers abandoned eggs, I gathered all the earth; And there was not one that flapped its wing or opened its beak or chirped." (We seek to sound that warning, expose the enemy, and point the way to Jesus and the truth!)

Romans 13:1-4 

"Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.  Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil."

1 Timothy 2:1-2

"First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity."

 1 Peter 2:13-17

"Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and the praise of those who do right. For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God. Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king."
